Creating engaging Experiences 

Effective designs empower consumers and bring clarity to complex publishing and enterprise product environments.

I'm a user-centered design leader who embraces lean, agile development practices and focused collaboration.

As a Google / Salesforce / Facebook alum and a former entrepreneur, I’ve worked with product companies, design agencies, government organizations, and start-ups. This combined experience has given me a unique approach. View selected work

 

planning + strategy

Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to generate ideas for new products, I conduct ideation and planning sessions, compose creative briefs that synthesize use-cases and feature matrices, and propose roadmaps for user research, design, testing and deployment. 

design + testing

Creating system and customer journey maps, drafting wireframes and creating high fidelity designs, I direct prototyping and iteration during development. I work with UX researchers to create scripts for A/B and user-testing, and with data scientists to measure performance metrics.

media + promotion

Directing the design of visual identity systems and ad campaigns, I ensure products, marketing materials and social media work together. Having designed UI for common social media advertising platforms, I'm also a tactical strategist for marketing and sales teams.

ENTERPRISE  //  I’ve led teams at Google and Salesforce focussing on CRM for Ads Sales, customer resolution for Service and Marketing Clouds, and development tools for admins and engineers.

SOCIAL MEDIA  //  As part of Facebook product teams in Menlo Park, Seattle and London, I created and tested mobile and desktop designs for Saved and Workplace. Later, I was the lead designer for Ads Delivery, including ad scheduling, budgeting, and tools for monitoring performance. 

PUBLISHING  //   Working with Time Inc., I designed digital experiences for Health.com, Sunset.com and their advertisers. I've created websites and tools for AFAR, Mothering, Yoga Journal, and Moon Travel Guides. 

NONPROFIT  //  Collaborating with small teams, I created new designs for Amma.org, and tools and marketing sites for the San Francisco Department of Public Health. At Hot Studio, I created the visual design for the Open Architecture Network and led UX design for projects with Code for America and The Presidio Trust. 

FINANCIAL SERVICES  //  I've designed internal products for Visa and apps and websites for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., MarketWatch and Eaton Vance.

ADVERTISING  // I've designed interfaces for online advertising platforms including Facebook and Turn, created sponsored tools and ad campaigns for AllRecipes and Time Inc., and social marketing campaigns for public health nonprofits.

E-COMMERCE  //  I've created UI for a variety of e-commerce, subscription and transactional environments, including CPP (publisher of Myers-Briggs) Time Inc. and Verizon.

SCIENCE  //  I led multi-phase projects for the MITRE Corporation and SRI International to create content-rich, responsive websites that represent the breadth of their organizations and R&D capabilities.

Communicating how products and features interrelate makes it possible to innovate and scale more effectively. I create roadmaps and schematics of product and feature systems. When appropriate, I design experiences that draw from component libraries so products can share resources and ship more quickly.

Improving customer experience involves understanding organizational structures, communication channels, collaboration practices, and common workflows. I create products that empower people to improve their skills, define and accomplish tasks, share materials, and measure results.

Creating a memorable brand combines great design, a keen understanding of the audience, and strategic social media. I create identity systems for nonprofit and commercial brands and help marketers deploy engaging, effective campaigns that leverage online advertising platforms.
